Hot Yoga is Hatha-based and consists of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises for 60, 75 or 90 minutes in a room heated at 105 degrees and 40-50% humidity. The heat allows your body to warm up inside out and promotes a healthy detoxification of your entire being. There are many health benefits received from hot yoga including improved circulation, balance to blood pressure and blood sugar, healing knees and past injuries, strengthens lower back, stress release, reduction of arthritic pain, improved flexibility, energizing and much more!
Q: What is Just Warm Yoga?
Just Warm Yoga is heated at 85 degrees with 40-50% humidity and is 45-50 minutes. This yoga class consists of the 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises experienced in the original Hot Yoga class. This class is a great option for anyone concerned with higher heat levels or who may want to take a lunchtime yoga class or shorter evening class.
Q: What is Warm Vinyasa?
Warm Vinyasa Flow is a 60-minute full body yoga flow, uniting breath and movement. You will work up a sweat as you strengthen, detoxify, and balance your body with challenging postures, inspiring music, and hands-on adjustments. Beginners to experienced yogis welcome. Temperature is set to 90 degrees and is 60 minutes in length.
Q: What if I'm not flexible or out of shape?
This is the most common misconception that prevents people from coming to a yoga and or Pilates class. Classes at Hot Yoga Escape are not about how sporty and or flexible you are. All that matters is that you try your best, be mindful and you will get 100% of the benefits!
Q: Who should do Hot Yoga?
Regardless of your fitness level, if you want to improve your health or simply feel good in your body, Hot Yoga is for you. The series is designed for beginners as well as experienced practitioners so previous knowledge of yoga is not a requirement. As you continue to do Hot Yoga and deepen your practice you will notice how it evolves, adapting to your new level and needs. Although every class may feel different, you will always leave balanced and refreshed. Come as you are first class and build from there little bit by little bit!
Q: Is it safe to practice Hot Yoga every day?
YES, hot yoga is safe to practice every day! The original hot yoga (26 postures & 2 breathing exercises) is different from other forms of exercise. This yoga does not tear the muscles so your body does not require time to repair itself between classes. It is safe to do every day and even twice a day!
Q: Why do a Hot Yoga Escape challenge?
You will receive a total mind body workout designed to build strength, flexibility balance and mental focus. Your consistent yoga and or Pilates practice will also build muscle tone, promote weight loss, increase circulation, regulate blood pressure, better your stress management, improve sleep patterns, uplift your emotional spirit and energize your body. You will simply smile more and confidence in your appearance will improve while you deepen your personal practice and understanding of each posture and movement. Although a challenge is a commitment of time, it is more importantly a commitment to your health, wellness and spirit!
Q: What if I miss a class/day or have to be out of town during a HYE Challenge?
Your goal is to meet the set number of classes/days that you designated when you signed up. Depending on the guidelines of the challenge, you might be able to make up a class/day by completing a double in a day. If traveling you can visit another hot yoga studio while out of town or practice to a hot yoga or Pilates class recording. See your HYE Team for additional support.

- Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!!! Hydration is extremely important to prevent injury, exhaustion and pain while practicing any heated yoga and Pilates. Proper hydration should a daily habit. Electrolyte replenishment is also vital! See your HYE Team for more assistance on electrolyte information.
- Radjashree Choudhury’s Magical Hydration Potion---8 ozs water, squeeze a fresh lemon, 1 tsp maple syrup, pinch of Himalayan salt---it WORKS!!
- Eat well - wholesome, nutritious foods and stay away from fasts or crash diets. You will naturally crave healthier foods. Eat clean, real food….stay on the perimeter of the grocery store as a general guideline. Give your body what it needs. Suggestions: fresh vegetables, lean meats, fresh fruit, Himalayan salt, coconut oil, avocado, almonds and almond butter, and start cooking from scratch… (see Friday's postings on Social Media for recipe ideas)
- Get plenty of rest! Make time for rest -ideally 7-8 hours of sleep nightly. Sneak a cat nap in, whenever possible!
- Soak in an Epsom Salt bath to reduce aches and pains and to promote recovery and a balanced state with your body.
- Treat yourself to a massage monthly or when possible.
- Surround yourself with positive people and live with positive intention!
- Embrace the freedom to feel inner peace and self acceptance! You are the most important person in this world!!
